Central Notts Remembers

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

Sunday 8th November, saw young people and our Adult Volunteers mark Remembrance Sunday in an unusual way.

Usually members would gather with their Groups and Units to mark and reflect on Remembrance Sunday. However due to COVID-19 restrictions, unfortunately the majority of members were unable to mark the day as they would have liked to.

At the end of September, the District Team launched their #DoorstepRemembrance event, which would encourage members of all ages to stand on their doorsteps to observe the national 2 minutes silence.

Shortly after 11am, across multiple Scout Group social media accounts we could see that many members took up the call, and stood on their doorsteps to mark the day. We were overwhelmed with the amount of photo's received to our Media and Comms email address. If you haven't sent your photo in, there is still time, as we are looking how best to make use of all photos sent in. We have put together a collage gallery of all the photo's we have received which can be viewed by clicking here

From the entire District Team, we would like to thank everyone who took part ensuring that this key date in the Scouting calendar was recognised, and showing that no matter what in Central Notts 'We will Remember Them'.
