You may have seen in the media and online today, that the Scout Association have been awarded HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Volunteering Award.
This special one-off award was announced in 2022 to commemorate the late HM The Queen and her Platinum Jubilee. Today the recipients list was announced and The Scouts are one of only 20 recipients of this special award nationwide!
You may recall that in June 2022, Nottinghamshire Scouts were awarded HM The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service by Her Late Majesty, and now this National Award has been personally approved by HM King Charles III as one of his first acts as Monarch, and is a special addition to the one officially presented by Sir John Peace at County Hall, just over a month ago.
You can read more details about this extra special award, on the Scout Association website, by visiting: https://www.scouts.org.uk/news/2022/december/scouts-receive-hm-the-queen-s-platinum-jubilee-volunteering-award/?fbclid=IwAR2O7As_UoP7JpYay-wWFhoM8CFWJL_VLo-jwogsJ2tqCrLo4FQT8YQlH1U
Finally once again, we would like to thank each and every volunteer, as both the QVAS and the Platinum Jubilee QVAS would not be possible without their dedication to our fantastic Group and movement.
We hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
